Auto insurance claim denied?

A woman ran a stop sign and I hit the breaks to avoid hitting her, but the car behind me hit the rear of my car and the car behind her swerved to avoid her and hit my front. The police did not give her a ticket because ‘no one was injured’, and they made a lot of mistakes on the report (i.e. my license plate #, VIN #, birth dates, etc). The police report is supposed to be fixed soon. The insurance of the girl who ran the stop sign sent someone to appraise the damage, then they denied my claim saying their client wasn’t at fault. The insurance of the car that rear-ended me said they are still determining fault, but if they accept it they will only fix the back end damage and not the front. What should I do? I only have liability with my insurance. Can I re-file a claim with the insurance of the girl who ran the stop sign? What’s the chances they would change their minds?

both cars that hit you from behind are liable sue them both if they don’t pay up, you got hit it is their fault, they are legally required to keep a “safe” distance behind the car in front, I would subpoena their cellphone records and prosecute them for tailgating

you dont scare the insurance company/they know you dont have collision/so they take their chance/gotta get a lawyer to push their buttons/other insurance co is only obligated to their policy holder not to you

No you cannot re-file with the insurance company. They will not change their minds. They denied the claim because their insured did not make contact with you. You both avoided the collision. You have to file a claim against the insurances of the car that rear ended you, and the car that hit you in the front.

It’s funny to me that at the time when people get their vehicles insured that they don’t think to insure their own property, but then cry foul when someone else damages it. If your vehicle was worth so little to you when you purchased your policy that you didn’t even bother to purchase collision coverage, what makes you think that other insurance companies are required to give a crap about it?
