My car got stolen recently (1week ago). The police are still investigating & the insurance company (farmers) said that they can process the claim as soon as tomorrow.
Can you please share you experience regarding:
- what are the chances of the car being recovered & in what condition
- do insurance companies reimburse at below-market value or at-market value (-OR- KBB trade-in/private-party/dealer value)
- in general is it better to take the reimbursement or wait a bit longer for it to be recovered.
The car most likely will be recovered, but not in road worthy condition. They will payout “local” market value of comparable vehicle. You will not want the car back as I am sure it will be destroyed.
