Can I pocket money from an auto insurance claim?

My care was rear ended by another car. The insurance company wants me to go to a body shop and have an estimate done and they’ll pay the shop directly to have the repairs done. My car is a little dinged up right now but I need the money for something else. How can I claim the check for myself?

    You can make a deal with the body shop that if you agree to use that particular shop he will give you a kickback and bill the insurance company for more.

    This is a fraulent criminal activity but you did ask.

    You just ask the adjuster to pay you directly.

    Keep in mind, you’ll be leaving money on the table this way, they’ll NOT give you the full amount of the estimate. But if, within a reasonable amount of time, you do get the work done, you can ask the insurance company to pay the additional amount to the body shop.
