Can you cancel an auto insurance claim?

I filed a insurance claim for hail damage now the insurance company wants to total my vehicle because of the amount of damage. It has already gone to the total loss department is it possible to cancel the claim and keep the vehicle.

    Yeah or you can take money and buy it back for salvage price, but title will be branded.

    Even if it is totaled, you can buy the car back from the insurance company and then do whatever you like with the car, fix it, junk it, drive it as is. Insurance companies have no desire to own cars they total. They just sell them to someone anyway. They will be happy to sell it to you because it makes less trouble for them.

    You may ask a good insurance agent and ask advice and some actions on it.
