How long does it take to restore a decent credit rating?

5 years ago I had perfect credit. After a nasty split with my friend and all the bills in my name, he gave me pretty bad. Since then, I had trouble paying my bills on time and have some cases where the collections agencies have called me (twice in a hospital for a $ 5 billion, I did not know!). But during that time I bought a car (with my mother as a co-signer) and have not even been paid late on a payment for car insurance on time, and have been paying off my student loan on time.

I am now financially in a much better place and I am able to pay every bill on time, but I think my credit card is still pretty crappy. How long does it usually take to build up good credit?

Do this only car loan? If so, you should try to get a secured credit card to improve your score in 630th

It will probably take 18 months to 2 years to get things back on track after a warranty card.
