I recently had an accident with someone without insurance says (in Indiana) and my insurance agent to me that I must pay the deductible for my car. Is it right? I always thought you have the assurance that you can not avoid the loss of your negligence paid. Since the accident was not my fault and my insurance is to pay the deductible me I should look for a new insurance agency? It looks like a bit of a cheat to me.
Comprehensive and Collision Coverages are subject to you paying a deductible and fault has no bearing on on it. If you have uninsured motorist coverage and can identify the other party then your deductible may be paid from the um-pd coverage.
