if possible to have two insurance policies on one car ?

I am 10 years old and has no claim my partner just started driving. We use the same car, but I want to know it is legal for me to the car on my name and my partners make in achieving this go by his name when they Prangs my no claims is not lost
It is legal, but many policies have language that says when the new coverage areas will start the old cover is invalid. This is to avoid lodging the same with both companies and the collection at once. (Also known as double dipping.) It would be better not to spend your money for just two and a policy for the car.
