Who is the best for homeowners and auto insurance policies combined? State Farm, Allstate, or Farmers?

I am not looking for the cheapest and I want both policies bundled. Which company do you think provides the best service? i.e. if I ever need to make a claim, who’s gonna be there for me and pay it out quickly? I live in Colorado so no hurricanes here. Thanks!

I have worked for 2 of the 3 companies that you asked about. The thing to remember is that they all have the same basic policy it is the extra bells and whistles that will cost you. And each of them look at credit scores a slightly different way. the other things that are factored in are the age and condition of your home. My best answer is find an independent agent that can do the sopping for you. they have access to several companies, usually they also have one of the above as well and they will input your information into the systems and give you quotes from several companies all similar in price and products and you and the agent can determine the best extra coverages that you feel are important for your home needs, Also make sure that you don’t have a deductible that is to low because that will cause your costs to go up because the companies feel you will turn in any claim verses making the minor repairs yourself with causes the cost of insurance to go up for everyone.

Okay, first off there is no one “best” when it comes to premium. Despite all the commercials we see, every company has different rating factors, and, while one company may be cheaper for one person, another company may be cheaper for the other person. Auto insurance is pretty standard from company to company- everyone has their different perks and discounts, but when it comes down to it in a loss they will pay about the same for the coverage you have.

Homeowners insurance, on the other hand, is very different from company to company. In Texas we have a website called OPIC (opic.state.tx.us), and I’m sure your state has something similar. This site compares the different types of homeowners policies and what they cover. The 2 main things you want to look at are what perils are covered (named perils or open perils) and the loss settlement clause (actual cash value or replacement cost).

A named perils policy only covers the perils specifically listed in your contract, while an open perils policy covers any type of loss you substain unless it is specifically excluded in your contract. Also, when you are looking for a homeowners policy make sure you find one that pays out replacement cost in a claim settlement and not actual cash value; this will make a world of difference if you ever find yourself in a claim situation. You want to get paid how much it costs to replace your items and not what they are actually worth (depreciated value aka actual cash value).

No matter what company you go with, make sure you first sit down and talk to your agent about your coverages. A good agent will have no problem explaining them to you and what they cover- or helping you find ways to receive discounts. One suggestion an agent might make to help you lower your premiums is to raise your deductible. If you do this, make sure it is something you can afford to pay if something happens. On top of everything, remember, when we buy insurance, we are buying claim service/handling- all we really care about is that are claim will be handled fairly. I mean, that’s the real reason any of us have insurance, right? No point in spending money on them if they aren’t going to be there when we need them. :)

autoinsurance.maclenet.com – try this one. I have their car insurance and, as I know, they can provide such a service.

These three companies are considered to be the worst insurance companies in the US. BUT If I had to pick one of them I would go with State Farm. I would recommend you look at alternatives though like Country Companies etc.

You’re probably going to have to just shop and compare the policies and rates.

You might look around this website for the State of Colorado to see what the regulations on policies are.
